Respite Care

From a few hours to a few weeks, respite care provides a short term relief for carers. If you’re a carer you can rest easy knowing that you’re leaving someone with considerate staff, including registered nurses, who will supply the necessary attention, care and support. It’s a relief for you both from the work and the worry.

We encourage short term respite care for people with dementia as a way of gradually introducing moving into a care home. Slowly introducing people with dementia to a new environment means that if they eventually do need to move in full time they avoid the trauma of sudden change. Besides, we like to get to know someone first before we live with them.
